There are quite a few sites like these, another one that has been gaining traction recently is socialmarker.com. Beware though, I STRONGLY suggest that anyone using these spends a little while checking over each one to have a look at the kind of content that is accepted there as some are niche specific.

It’s indeed a powerful tool, but i prefer to submit my stories to a few powerful bookmarking sites (like digg, stumble) and promote those particular stories. It won’t bring you much traffic, as you need more then 1 votes to make it to the front page of a social bookarmking site, and that requires a lot of luck and blackhat :D. It’s pretty good for SEO though.
