I have found myself doing less and less productive work lately because I feel so overwhelmed. Making money online is not easy at all if you are just starting out in the first year — it is a lot of work!

It is interesting how we all can be so excited about something one moment and feel unmotivated the next moment. This could apply to your car, your computer, your old games, your wife :???:, etc.

You probably have come across this and sometimes you may find yourself not interested to do anything productive. You want to chill out and take a rest, but you already took a long break. You are just simply not motivated. What should you do?

  1. Honestly evaluate whether or not you need a break.
  2. Start small.
  3. Change your routine.
  4. Reward yourself.
  5. Reconnect the action with pleasure rather than pain.

There are many other things I do to get pumped up when I feel down and just plain lazy. The above can be used by anyone, but here are some things I do myself.

  • Listen to inspiring and uplifting music.
  • Read an interesting book. I read the Bible.
  • Write down your goal.
  • Write down what you want to have and act like you already own them. Close your eye and visualize what you want like you already own it.
  • Take a 15 minutes nap or rest while listening to music.
  • Do a little exercising like walking.
  • Talk to yourself or pray to your Higher Self

I hope that helps because everyone get unmotivated sometime and I felt that way today  tell me what you do when you feel down or unmotivated

Hi Sean - everybody gets unmotivated sometimes. Your tips are great, and the mini-goals and rewards work well. To stop you feeling overwhelmed, I would highly recommend Eat That Frog by Brian Tracy as it will help you prioritise and manage your time.

I have felt unmotivated many times and I do many of the things you do. I also meditate, listen to inspirational CD’s and self hypnosis tapes.

One thing that one needs to remind himself in any aspect of life is not to let your emotions factor in to your will or drive. When emotions become the actual motivation it can be a very depressing sense or state.

Dedication is hard to have all of the time. What I do when I am feeling particularly useful, I will write all that I can for my blog - maybe get four full articles written. Since my posting schedule for full articles is one every other day, I put these new articles on time delay and now i’m set for 8 days. And hopefully by the end of those 8 days, I have run across something to give me more inspiration.
