Secret Strategy Number 2

For those of you paying attention you should have already figured out secret strategy number 1.  Secret strategy number 2 is another beauty.  Easy to implement, yet done by so few.

What is it you may ask?  I am going to tell you but first a story…

If you were going to catch fish with a net would it be to your advantage to have one net in the water or many nets?

Okay, not so much a story as a rhetorical question.

So lets say you have a site you want to attract traffic to.  You do some bum marketing, write some articles, play on some traffic exchanges, or, if your budget is larger, you buy some advertising, PPC, solo ads, etc.

That is great, but it is also only one net.

As an aside, I will continue to prefer free methods of marketing over paid marketing.  You definately get more for your money using the free methods.  That being said, lets move on.

The next thing you need to do is build another net.  Okay, I am finally going to get to the strategy.

What you are going to do is save some of those beautiful articles you have written to market your site and use them to build free websites on social sites like Hub pages, Squidoo, etc  You will create pages, or lenses that relate to your site, and that also link to your site.  There are an amazing number of sites that you can put up a free page on, fill it with content and have it point to your main site.

Alot of these social sites are loved by Google, and by association, Google will begin to love your site.  Create your own mini web for each niche you want to market in.

If you write your content on the mini sites so that the reader is wanting more, they will be compelled to go to your main site to find out the rest of the story.  You can make your mini web as large as you want, linking each site to your main site and possibly to each other.

There are a few things to remember.  Web surfers get bored easily.  Don’t have them hopping around the net indefinately before they land on your main page.  Well, actually that is the main thing to remember.  Follow good SEO practice and don’t forget to go back to some of those sites and update or add to the content every once in a while.

Before you know it you will have a sizeable net to catch large volumes of traffic.
