Warning: Make Videos And Get Traffic Really Fast

I recently wrote a post awhile back telling you how powerful videos can be in getting traffic and making money. I honestly think if you are crazy not to use videos to promote your sites and products because I have been making money and getting traffic doing this.

I have been trying to get traffic from videos for 2 weeks now and the result are excellent comparing to the amount of time put into it. Here is how you can create a video instantly and upload them all to the top 10-20 videos sites fast.

1. Create the video.

This is very easy if you do what I do. The thing here is that you are NOT going to make a single video but use other people video. You must know what kind of video you want first and then do a search for them on Youtube or any other video sites. Look for amateur videos only. Once you have found 10-20 videos that are good quality and entertaining: Contact the owner for permission to use it.

Most of the time they will say yes and you can use it. Sometime I don’t even ask for permission if the video is hard to distinguish who the author is

2. Optimize the video.

You must edit the videos and add your link at the beginning and end. It would be smart to show the link throughout the video play. Many video sites require you to enter a description, name, keyword, and topic.

Be sure to put your full link in the description box first thing. Choose the title and keywords carefully because it will mean a lot. You can also stuff keywords into the description box but make it look real. If you are creating videos on one specific niche, then it will be alright to use the same keywords and description for all of them.

3. Upload the videos.

I recommend that you use 10-20 videos for maximum result, but each must be unique. This is the tedious part but there is a solution…You don’t have to upload them all manually at all. The site that I’ am using right now to auto submit my videos let you submit each of your video to about 20 popular sites.

Hey!Spread is what I’ am using and it work really well. It is free to use and is safe. Remember to create about 2 account on each video sites just in case!

How it is working out for me?

Let me show you prove that this is effective and work very well if you did the above. I upload all of the videos I get to only about 12 sites and really care mostly about Metacafe and Youtube. I have no idea how well those videos are doing on those other 10 sites but here are the result for Youtube and Metacafe:

I am currently promoting affiliate product in the health and fitness niche and yes I am getting clicks! This is the data for just 2 sites…I am probably getting around the same number of views for the other 10-12 I uploaded to

What are you using to edit?
Another thing you could do is make a slideshow from Creative Commons photos.
Video is something that can be used very effectively.

Another interesting strategy Sean. Are you doing anything with the original videos other than adding your link?

Like James asked, what program are you using to edit the videos? I see that you are getting clicks, but are you getting conversions on your affiliate offers that you are linking to?

Looks like you are getting good traffic, but like the others have said, are you getting the conversion?

Do you have any problems using copyrighted material like the south park guy?

I think using videos for your blog promotion is OK but not if you use it without author’s permission.

I totally agree, everybody seems to respond well to videos, personally I like to be able to share what I best know, in fact I’m working on my site to post video tutorials about computer graphic, video editing, coding ect. Maybe even how to use Camtasia
I’d really encourage you guys to get a mic, any video capturing program, there are free ones good as camtasia, and even a cheapo camcorder if you can. Show you knwoledge, cooking skills, how to fix your car, play an instrument, using a program, anything.

And as this great post suggest, let everybody know about your videos.

P.S. I told you I would be back

    How that?
You re-capture the videos with camtasia?
    I don’t understand.
1 - Let’s say the video is on youtube.
2 - How do you get the file .vmw or .avi
3- before being able to edit with camtasia

Lova: I used to use CAmtasia to record the Youtube videos since I knew nothing about downloading Youtube videos using some free sites online.

I basically recaptured the video using Camtasia while the video was playing and then edited later in CAmtasia.

For those that don’t have Camtasia

    1) Put in youtube link here to download to flv format
    http://keepvid.com/

    2) Download this completely free video format converter, that converts flv to avi.
    http://www.smallvideosoft.com/flv-to-avi/

    3) Edit file using movie maker, which is a standard program on windows xp.

You can edit the video length on either side to get the part of the video you want.
